New iPhone 5 & iPad Mini Release Dates & Debuts in September

New leaks suggest that September will be a big month for Apple new releases and announcements. TechCrunch reported that Verizon has informed employees that they will not be able to take vacation on Friday, September 21 until Friday, September 30. This information is interpreted to mean that the dates are for the sale of the new iPhone 5. It is also rumored that Apple will make its latest iPhone announcement on September 12 with a “trusted” source stating the release date will be Friday September 21. Apple and Verizon have waited until Friday for its iPhone launches. AT&T employees are not taking vacations during the last two weeks of September until the middle of October. MacRumors reported that Apple is informing its reseller partners to “set aside additional table space for iPad displays over the next few weeks by September 12, when Apple will reported unveil the iPad Mini. New leaks showed a Franken-iPhone pieced together with parts to create a mock iPhone 5 by iResQ which some call a Franken-iPhone. There is photo of the headphone jack/docking port assembly screwed into the back casing of the next iPhone: The new iPhone pieces have a smaller charging plug and earphone jack on the bottom. The company is already stocking repair parts for the unannounced devices. The dock connector and headphone assemblies for the iPad Mini and new iPhone are very similar suggesting the iPad Mini could be more like an iPhone Maxi than an iPad. The most prominent new feature believed is a 4″ touchscreen. The iPhone is so popular that Yahoo’s new CEO Marisss Mayer wants to give every Yahoo employee an iPhone for consistency. 。 wholesale accessories, iphone accessories, ipod accessories, ipad accessories

Apple: Samsung Copied iPhone, iPad

Apple asserted in its opening statement of its infringement case against Samsung that the Korean firm analyzed and systematically copied one feature after another of its iPhone and iPad devices, then brought look-alike products to market. Apple designer Christopher Stringer, the trial's first witness, was asked by lead Apple attorney what he thought as he witnessed competitors bringing phones similar to the iPhone's design to market. "We'd been ripped off. It was plain to see, particularly by Samsung. We were offended," he said. It was the punchline that Apple had been building toward on a day of opening statements, following Monday's jury selection of seven men and three women in U.S. District Court in San Jose on the opening day of the trial. The courtroom with limited seating was packed with attorneys, journalists, and observers, as was an overflow courtroom where sound and video were piped in. Samsung lead attorney Charles Verhoeven was soon able to issue a rejoinder to the charges in his own 90-minute opening statement. But before he could launch into it, he felt constrained to remind the jury that they needed "to keep an open mind," that there was "more to the story than what you've just heard." Unlike Verhoeven's presentations, which frequently stopped and started again as he searched for the proper exhibit, Apple's narrative flowed from start to finish with a rising indignation. It moved toward what seemed an inevitable conclusion. Verhoeven seemed to understand its potential impact on a lay jury. Apple's lead attorney, Harold McElhinny, started out, for example, by showing a simple graphic of six Samsung phones in a wide variety of form factors prior to the launch of the iPhone at Macworld in January 2007. Next to it, he showed Samsung phones being produced by 2010. They all have the rectangular proportions and rounded corners of the iPhone form factor. McElhinny produced what he called a Samsung design document that compared iPhones, feature by feature, with Samsung's Galaxy model and noted whenever the iPhone's features were different. And the apparent design response in each instance was to "make something like the iPhone." "To be blunt, Samsung has not been honest about this copying," he said. Toward the end of his 90 minutes, McElhinny poured special effort into depicting Samsung as, not only an unscrupulous competitor, but so unethical that it failed to live up to its obligation to disclose pending patents to other members of an international standards body, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), as it was required to do. Samsung was ready, when the time came, to launch its counterattack. Nevertheless, one well dressed, young Samsung executive providing support to the legal staff was undergoing culture shock in the overflow room as he experienced the American legal system firsthand. Samsung for two decades has been a key supplier to Apple. He walked about the room, saying: "We are close business partners. Why are we slinging mud at each other?" Samsung's Verhoeven, when his turn came, disputed the last assertion first. Samsung has made important contributions to wireless standards and under ETSI rules, confidential, proprietary information did not have to be disclosed during its application for a Korean patent. "Any suggestion otherwise is without merit," he said. Apple had engaged in selective evidence presentation, he claimed. Yes, Samsung makes phones in a similar slim, rectangular proportion as the iPhone but it has always made a variety of phones and still does. Apple hadn't shown the six models that do not look like the iPhones that Samsung produces, said Verhoeven. In addition, Samsung had designed a phone with rounded corners and a rectangular shape before the iPhone was launched. Apple holds 200 patents on the design elements of the iPhone, including the specifics of its user interface. It has patented the "bounce back" feature of a document being viewed on an iPhone. When the user reaches the edge of the document, instead of allowing the cursor to continue off into white space, or "getting lost in the desert," as Apple designers term it, it bounces back to the center of the document or top of a list. Apple patented the finger-guided scrolling on the iPhone screen, and McElhinny made much of the uniqueness of two-finger gesture controls on the iPhone screen, such as the flicking of the thumb and forefinger to prompt an application to zoom in on an object. But Samsung may have scored points with the jury by disputing Apple's claim to having invented a unique product by illustrating prior uses of finger-controlled scrolling and multiple-finger gestures. Verhoeven showed a photographer manipulating images on a light box by moving them around and prompting them to enlarge through finger gestures, contesting the claim Apple had solely invented the idea. He cited three prior patents issued in Japan and the U.S. that captured definitions of multiple finger gestures accomplishing image movements similar to those executed on the iPhone. The Nomura patent was issued in Japan in 1998. A U.S. patent captured the ability to zoom in and out on fractal images through a technique labeled "Diamond Touch." Another finger gesture patent that had been demonstrated by Jefferson Han at the TED conference in Monterey, Calif., in 2006 was issued that year. These constitute prior art that the U.S. Patent Office examiner failed to consider in granting Apple a patent on the finger controls of the iPhone user interface, Verhoeven asserted. "When a patent is granted, it doesn't mean the examiner knows everything. Apple claims it invented finger scrolling and use of the two-finger touch gesture, but there were other inventors," he said. 。 wholesale accessories, iphone accessories, ipod accessories, ipad accessories

Apple sells 300,000 iPads on first day

Apple Inc said it had sold more than 300,000 iPads on the tablet computer's first day in stores, surpassing some forecasts, but leaving questions about whether the product can be its next big hit. Shares of Apple were nearly unchanged in early trading after the stock last week repeatedly hit record highs in anticipation of the iPad's launch on Saturday. The company said first-day sales included deliveries of preordered iPads to customers, deliveries to channel partners and sales at Apple Retail Stores. A number of U.S. stores were closed for the Easter holiday on Sunday, but some did remain open, which suggests that total weekend figures will be higher. Several analysts had expected the company to sell 250,000 to 350,000 units on the opening weekend. The big question is whether brisk sales are sustainable, or whether last weekend's crowds consisted primarily of hardcore Apple fans and early adopters. At the moment, Wall Street analysts expect iPad sales to reach about 5 million units in the first 12 months. At least four brokerages raised their share-price targets and full-year earnings estimates for Apple following the debut of the highly anticipated mobile touchscreen computer that lets users watch video, read newspapers and search the Web. For the weekend, Kaufman Brothers analyst Shaw Wu expected sales of 250,000 to 300,000 units. Barclays Capital analyst Ben Reitzes estimated that Apple sold about 400,000 iPads. Companies found to have supplied some of the key components to the iPad received a boost in trade on Monday [ID:nN03146377]. Those include Samsung Electronics, up 1.5 percent, LG Display, up 2.2 percent, Broadcom Corp up 2.0 percent, and Texas Instruments Inc, up 1.1 percent. JPMorgan analyst Mark Moskowitz said critical mass depended on future product generations overcoming current limitations. "In the interim ... Apple faithful and the early adopters should help the iPad beat subdued investor expectations," he said in a note to clients. Susquehanna Financial analyst Jeffrey Fidacaro, who expects a smaller second wave of demand in late April for the 3G version, said the iPad was likely to take share from Amazon.com Inc's Kindle because of its robust e-reader capabilities. Apple has plenty riding on the iPad, which it unveiled in January and calls a new category of machine: a lightweight media consumption device that tries to fuse the best attributes of a smartphone and a laptop. JPMorgan raised its price target on Apple stock to $305 from $240; Kaufman Brothers increased it to $295 from $253; and Thomas Weisel Partners lifted its price target to $280 from $270. Susquehanna raised its price target to $275 from $260, while Barclays kept its unchanged at $285. Shares of Apple were down less than 0.1 percent at $235.78 in morning trading. Apple added that iPad users had downloaded more than 1 million applications from the company's App Store and more than 250,000 ebooks from its iBookstore during the first day. wholesale accessories, iphone accessories, ipad accessories, ipod accessories

Rumours about Apple’s next-generation iPhone (unofficially dubbed the iPhone5) and iPad mini have been coming out since the beginning of this year. Various speculations are being made as to how the new devices (iPhone 5 and mini iPad) will look and what all they will have to offer. Apple’s iPhone 5 coming in September? Though various rumours have been floating, but according to a recent report from Digitimes, Pegatron Technology, reportedly, has secured orders for the next-gen iPhone (iPhone 5) from Apple, which is expected to be launched in September. Pegatron Technology is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for the iPhone 4S and new iPad. The report also claims that the 10-inch iPad from Apple will be unveiled in the fourth quarter of 2012. Besides, Apple, reportedly, has been endeavouring to secure the iPhone5.com domain name. The company is said to have filed a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) with respect to the iphone5.com domain. This particular domain is currently being used in hosting a forum for Apple fans so as to talk about the upcoming iPhone. If it is true, it indicates a lot. So, if rumours are to be believed, Apple is going to come up with the iPhone 5 in the month of September, one month after the debut of its 7-inch iPad mini. Earlier, Mashable reported the new iPhone to hit the market in June this year. But, the release date now has moved up to September, say rumours. Considering Apple’s new strategy of not naming the product, it can not be said that whether it will be called the “iPhone 5″ or the “new iPhone”. It will, however, be the 6th iPhone from Apple. After the release of the iPhone, the company launched an iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Apple’s new iPhone will have a sharper and bigger 4.6-inch “retina” display, as reported by Reuters. The new iPhone is reported to be 4G LTE compatible, It seems more likely now after Apple released an iPad with 4G support. Reportedly, Apple is working on a smaller dock connector for charging and data transfers to help make extra room in its portable devices. The iPhone 5 could have a quad-core A6 processor, according to reports. But it does not seem plausible as Apple is not known for upgrading the technology so fast. Before the launch of the new iPad, people were expecting it to come equipped with the A6 processor, but it did not happen and their hopes dashed when the company unveiled the A5X-powered iPad. The next-gen iPhone is expected to come packed with an updated version of Siri and a better battery than the existing one. Rumours sat that the new iPhone will not be slimmer than the iPhone 4S. Apple’s iPad mini coming in August? According to a Digitimes report: “A 7-inch iPad, which reportedly will be released in August, will be manufactured by Foxconn Electronics.” This is not for the first time that we have heard rumours about a smaller iPad. Rumours about the iPad mini have been doing the rounds for a long time. According to speculations, the company will purchase 7.85-inch panels from LG Display and AU Optronics (AUO). The iPad mini is reported to have a screen resolution of 1024×768 pixels. CNET earlier quoted Richard Shim, an analyst at DisplaySearch saying, “Apple is also expressing interest in making a mini-iPad based on a 7.85-inch screen. That would come later in 2012, possibly in the second half sometime.” Apple’s late co-founder Steve Jobs once criticised the 7-inch tablet size, saying that it was too small for a pleasant touchscreen experience. “7-inch tablets are tweeners: too big to compete with a smartphone and too small to compete with the iPad,” said Jobs, adding “they are going to be DOA – dead on arrival”. Now that Jobs is no longer around does the iPad mini indicate that Apple is slowly deviating away from his vision? We don’t expect the rumour mill to stop churning out rumours, but we highly expect some official announcement from the Cupertino-based tech giant soon. Now, reports are claiming that Apple will launch the iPad mini and iPhone 5 in August and September, respectively. Let’s see what all the rumour mill is churning out about Apple’s next-gen iPhone and iPad mini launches. wholesale accessoriesipad accessoriesiphone accessoriesipod accessories

Is an iPad mini coming soon?

Apple's long-rumored 7-inch iPad might be more than just a rumor, according to Barclays analyst Ben Reitzes. Discussing the iPad in a research note yesterday, Reitzes said the investment firm is still holding out hope that Apple will add a 7-inch tablet to its lineup. "Our global research team still sees some evidence of this product in the supply chain--and we wouldn't be surprised if it wound up in the iPod touch category if it indeed sees daylight," the analyst said. He did not provide any further details in the research note. Given some uncertainty on the part of Barclays, an iPad mini doesn't factor into its sales forecasts for the tablet. But either way, Apple is on track to have more bang-up quarters thanks to its current iPad lineup. Reitzes estimates that 14.2 million iPads will ship in the second quarter, a 20 percent jump over last quarter. And another 15.9 million will ship in the third quarter. Apple will be counting on strong sales from the iPad over the next couple of quarters as the company transitions to a new iPhone, according to the analyst. Last year, iPhone sales fell to 17 million in the quarter ended in September from 20 million the previous quarter. Potential buyers held off purchases in anticipation of the new iPhone, which made its debut in October. Several reports have pegged this October as the launch month for the next-generation iPhone. The iPad will also continue to cannibalize PC sales, Reitzes added. As such, he sees little need for Apple to create a "hybrid" Mac with a detachable screen, believing that iPad users will increasingly dock their iPads to keyboards. Looking at the market among tablet makers, Apple stayed on top in the first quarter with a 68 percent share. Samsung took back the No. 2 spot, while Amazon dropped to No. 3 as Kindle Fire sales dropped. The analyst expects Apple to hang on to its top market share over the near term as the Android tablet landscape becomes even more fragmented. Apple is also expected to do well with this year's new lineup of MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs. More rival ultrabooks will launch this year, but Apple should be able to retain its grip on the market with new Airs and a new OS. "We are very upbeat about the prospects for new MacBook Pros and iMacs to be launched this June quarter--and even more optimistic about a new line of MacBook Airs to likely ship in the September quarter at more attractive price points," Reitzes said. "With new software (OS X Mountain Lion) and new Airs, we believe that Apple will effectively counter any perceived 'threat' from Ultrabooks." wholesale accesories, ipad accessories, ipod accessories, iphone accessories
