iPhone 5 Release Date Looms as Apple Fights Domain Name

As the iPhone 5 release date looms, Apple has found itself in the news for specs & features, lauch dates, and other rumors. However, the latest on Apple is not about when the handset will launch. The company has moved to seize control of a fan-based website which is used for Apple enthusiasts to discuss rumors and news about specs, features, and launch information. Apple has filed a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) that challenges the ownership of the pandaoo.com domain name. The site hosts a forum where Appleites brainstorm about what the next Apple smartphone features, specs, and design will be. Surely fans are also speculating about the iPhone 5 release date, which could be another reason Apple wants to snag the website—apart from thewebsite name being exactly the same as the rumored name of the next Apple smartphone. In the past Apple has paid for domain names which are closely related, or right on point, to a product or device they offer. Apparently they no longer wish to dish out money to people who are snapping up domains which are clearly named after their products. The iPhone maker instead chooses to use the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) to claim domains which violate Apple trademarks. Other domains which Apple has disputed over include pandaoo.com,ipadiphoneaccessories.com. It sounds like Apple fans may soon be losing one of their well-loved sites. Surely they will find another suitable place where they can hash-out all the iPhone 5 release date rumors, news, and gossip. wholesale accessories, iphone accessories, ipad accessories, ipod accessories
