Galaxy S3 Release Date Drawing Near: What Features Can We Expect?
We haven't seen anything much from Samsung in 2012 that is deemed exciting and worth a pick up at the stores, but that is on the verge of changing when the company announces the overly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S3 on May 29, 2012 in London, with a release date set for that same month or early in June. Like every new Galaxy S device, the specs are to die for, and the Samsung Galaxy S3 is no exception in that department.
Samsung has the opportunity to get a huge jump on Apple and its new iPhone, which is expected to be named the iPhone 5. If the company can release the Galaxy S3 in time, it might finally undercut Apple while crippling other Android rivals all at the same time. Just think - killing multiple birds with a single stone.
When the device is announced on May 29, fans shouldn't expect much than a bump in processor speed, a bigger display and more RAM. Leaked specifications from a Vietnamese video stated the device will launch with a gigantic 4.6 inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.4GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, 16GB internal memory, 8MP camera on the back, and Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich.
Nothing much has changed in terms of design, which is a disappointment. If only Samsung was more like Nokia in releasing hardware with quality design, but every year it is the same old rehash with minor changes here and there. So not cool.
The Android market is huge and flourishing, however, not every manufacturer is tasting success. According to a Gartner report back in 2010, Samsung is Android's reigning champion when it took down Motorola to become the top Android manufacturer, and since then nothing has changed. Samsung only kept growing its marketshare to the point where it is now the top smartphone manufacturer and as well as overall mobile phone manufacturer in the world. Samsung might have played a dirty tactic and copied bits from the Apple iPhone, but that no longer matters when it is top dog.
