Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date: Pre-Order Appears On Amazon Germany
Samsung's highly anticipated newAndroid smartphone was spotted on Amazon.de as available for pre-order on Saturday, April 21. Although the listing did not include a release date, the post provides a few clues as to what we can expect from the new smartphone on May 3, when Samsung shows it to the world at a press conference in London.
The listing, which was first spotted by the German website BestBoyz.de and has already been taken downfrom Amazon, describes the "Samsung smartphone Galaxy S3" with a 4.7 inch (11.9 cm) Super AMOLED screen, 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 12 megapixel camera. The phone is listed as costing 599 Euros (almost $800). Whether Amazon accidentally revealed information it was supposed to be safeguarding or the listing was simply speculation is unknown.
Speculation is still high around the Samsung Galaxy S3, and many people believe that new phone will be unveiled in front of the media on May 3, although Samsung has made no promises. Invitations to the event sent out last week simply asked the press to "come and meet the next Galaxy." Samsung also told the press last week that all of the supposedly leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy S3 so far have been "not even close" to the actual smartphone.
A video leaked online recently and quickly removed from the Internet by Samsung showed a person using what they claimed was a pre-production model of the Samsung Galaxy S3. According to the video, the phone will have a 4.6 inch screen with HD resolution of 720 x 1280. The smartphone shown was also running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) software, included a 1.4GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (this last spec is supported by the Amazon listing).
