Pebble blue Samsung Galaxy S III hitting the UK on June 22
Through the week there was some debate about a demo video of the Samsung Galaxy S III that appeared to feature a metallic blue version of the handset seemingly as a workaround solution to the manufacturing issues that have affected the pebble blue variant.
However, not everyone agreed that the handset in the video actually wasn't just the existing pebble blue shade under different lighting conditions, and now it doesn't matter: Samsung has confirmed that the genuine article will land in the UK on June 22.
The blue Galaxy S III was all set to go on sale alongside the white model on May 30, but was delayed at the last minute after Samsung discovered a quality control issue that affected the finish of the blue polycarbonate shell.
More than half a million destroyed cases later and we were all fearing a repeat of the white iPhone 4 fiasco, which saw the white version of Apple's handset delayed by more than half a year while the company fixed an issue not discovered in development.
Happily, though, it seems Samsung's problem isn't anything like as bad, as staff at the company's flagship Stratford store have confirmed to The Inquirer that they're expecting the first shipment of the blue handset on June 22 – less than two weeks away.
