iPhone 5 & iOS 6 Must-Have Camera Features

With WWDC 2012 officially set to kick off on June 11th, we can't wait to see what Apple has in store this year, particularly for the iOS family. While Apple has traditionally launched a new iPhone model every year at WWDC, last year's delayed launch of the iPhone 4S has brought doubts as to whether we will end up seeing an iPhone 5 announcement next month. However what hasn't failed to show up at WWDC are major iOS updates. This year, fingers are crossed for the debut of iOS 6. iPhone 5 & iOS 6 camera features we want to see While speculations of a 12-megapixel camera coming with the new iPhone 5 continue to run rampant, what we would like to see is some updates to the camera software when the iOS 6 update rolls out. Here are 5 iOS 6 features we would like to see incorporated and eventually make their way into the iPhone 5: Simultaneous video and picture: We've seen this on some new smartphones that launched this year (HTC EVo 4G LTE, Samsung Galaxy S3) and find that the ability to shoot video and capture images simultaneously should no longer be confined to expensive DSLRs. Panorama shots: This feature was hidden in iOS 5 but never officially made it out. Here's hoping this changes with the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 as it has become a standard feature in high-end smartphone cameras already. Burst mode: While we love the almost instantaneous shutter speed of the iPhone 4S, some software tweaking will allow the iPhone to capture multiple shots in a single click, making sure you never miss that perfect moment no matter how tiny it was. Better social sharing: While there have been improvements with sharing your captured images on Twitter, other social networks like Facebook and Google Plus are still a painful process when compared to Android and Windows Phone devices. Face-tagging: While on the subject of Facebook, the recent unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S3 showed us a new feature which is sure to make uploading pictures to the biggest social network int the world that much more easier - Auto-tagging your friends. Using facial recognition, iOS 6 should automatically tag the people in your photos. This also becomes useful when browsing through pictures in your iPhone's Photo app if you're looking for someone in particular.
