Galaxy Note 2 Vs IPhone 5 – Which Would Be The Best Buy?

Smartphones have changed in recent times. They have become faster, lighter, stronger, more durable and larger, surprisingly, and that’s why the smartphone makers have started to combine tablet PCs and smartphones. They can handle more technology and are better for watching videos, playing games and are generally more usable than small-screened phones. So, onto the two hottest new phones out this year theSamsung Galaxy Note 2 and the iPhone 5. The new iPhone is due out at the end of this month and Note is out in October. If you’re not bound to one manufacturer then it’s a good idea to compare the two before you sign up for a 12 or 18 month contract. You will notice that the Galaxy Note 2 boasts a 5.5” screen that runs the ultra-impressive HD Super AMOLED screen that is incredibly clear and has a clarity that will blow you away. The iPhone 5 on the other hand will be 4 inches but there have been reports of 4.65” being the size. If you love a large screen but still want it to be portable then the Samsung might be on the large size compared to the iPhone. Running a 1.6GHz Exynos quad-core processor and a 3,100mAh battery and the iPhone will also run on a quad-core processor but it will most likely be a 2GHz one. The storage of the two phones are similar because you can choose between 16GB, 32GB or 64GB for the Note and the iPhone has a 64GB as standard but the ability to take another 64GB SD card to upgrade your storage to incredible levels. The Galaxy Note will feature a 1.9MP camera on the front with an 8MP on the back, however the 3D images and 8MP camera on the iPhone goes that little further in terms of cleverness. Where the Note wins with usability is the inclusion of the S-Pen, which allows you to write, tap and scroll much easier than using your fingers and it gives an accuracy that many people feel smartphones lack when it comes to tapping through to other screens. The main irk that people will have with the iPhone will be the two-year contracts, however, this could be worked so that you recycle it in two-years’ time for the iPhone 6. As Apple are big on recycling and reusing as many parts as possible, which has been seen recently as they are taking iPhone 4 and 4S’s back to reuse parts, it seems that there is a ‘green’ effort by the Cupertino firm. Of course, it’s personal choice when it comes to choosing a new smartphone. Remember, this little gadget will be by your side for the next 1-2 years and you should think about how you use it and how you will use it in the future. If you can buy a future-proof phone, something that Apple are renowned for doing, then you will stand in good stead.
