iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S3: Don't Choose On Specs Alone
You cannot help but get caught up by the mighty power boasted behind the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the hype behind what may come with the the iPhone 5. Now more than ever we can also see what dictates whether a high end phone will be successful or not and it is not just from power alone but also what it offers by way of software. What this means is that if the iPhone 5 manages to come rolling in with dual-core processors, matching camera specs and a larger display, t may not be the S3 hardware pitted against the iPhone but rather iOS 6 against Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz.
iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S3: Specs aren't going to be biggest deciding factor in 2012
Rumors have been going around that Apple will take the latest incarnation of the iPhone to the highest possible extents. However they will focus on next generation software rather than what is packed under the hood. Specs of course to some people will always matter and it has been rumored that the iPhone will come with an A6 quad core processor, a screen around 4 inches and support for 4G and NFC.
This sounds very impressive but then that’s only until you put it up against the specs of the S3. The Samsung Galaxy S3 offers a larger screen at 4.8 inches, more storage capacity thanks to support for an external microSD card, and removable battery which is something Apple has been against since the first iPhone debuted 5 years ago. Samsung have said that they expect sales of the device to reach the 10 million mark by the end of the month and what’s more incredible is that the device is not yet available on all carriers so easily.
With such new age tech packed into the S3 and it being a favourite of millions around the globe, it will be hard to beat and it may just come down to a preference over the operating system and which phone has the best apps to put it ahead of others. iOS 6 boasts 200 new features and brings missing bits like turn-by-turn navigation to the iPhone, while ICS (and the following update to JellyBean) have taken Android to a whole new level from when it was Gingerbread battling it out with the iPhone 4S last year.
So while specs are important, in 2012 we may see the Samsung Galaxy S3's "designed for humans" pitch play a bigger roll in its battle against Apple's iPhone than we originally expected.
