Samsung Galaxy S III available on 29 May at Carphone Warehouse

CARPHONE WAREHOUSE will start selling Samsung's much anticipated Galaxy S III from 7pm on 29 May, a day ahead of the official release. The mobile phone shop said that more than 800 of its stores will stock the S III upon launch due to huge demand and thousands of pre-orders since the handset was first unveiled two weeks ago. "The first 24 hours alone saw thousands placing their pre-order at Carphone Warehouse," said Carphone Warehouse's chief commercial officer, Graham Stapleton. "The Galaxy S3 is without a doubt the fastest selling pre-order of 2012 so far. We're gearing up for an exceptionally busy launch day at the end of the month as the handset lands on shelves at our stores across the UK." Samsung unveiled the S III earlier this month as the official smartphone of the London 2012 Olympics. It packs a super-sized 4.8in Super AMOLED HD touchscreen powered by Samsung's own 1.4GHz quad-core processor running on Android 4.0 Ice Crean Sandwich. In terms of design there's a curved "pebble-like" casing that's available in both blue and white, and the phone measures 8.9mm thick. General sales will start on 30 May across all major phone stores for £500, or free on monthly tariffs starting from £28 per month.
