Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 4S

Samsung Galaxy S3 is seen by most of the analysts as the real iPhone killer. But is it better than the iPhone 4S? The technical specifications show that the new Samsung flagship device is the winner, but iPhone 4S comes with a pretty stable OS and impresses with its robust and classy design. So, who’s the winner? Voice Recognition Both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S come with integrated voice controls. Apple introduced Siri, Samsung offers S Voice. Both personal assistants feature speech-to-text recognition, allow you to make phone calls and answer a multitude of questions. Still, it is a bit to early to conclude whether Samsung’s S Voice is as good as Siri. But since Siri is prone to making mistakes, it’s very likely for S Voice to be better. Notifications Let’s have a look at the features that you will use on a regular basis. After iOS 5 was introduced, Apple have completely reshaped the notifications, merging them all into the Notification Center, a reminiscent of Android’s notification system, placed on the top of the display. Samsung Galaxy S3 brought some improvements when it comes to notifications, introducing the Smart Alert, which will make the smartphone gently vibrate once you pick it up or pull it out of the pocket if there are any missed alerts and notifications, automatically displaying them on the screen. Streaming and Sharing Apple’s iCloud stores all your files in the cloud, so, if you download a song from iTunes, it will automatically appear in your Library. Even though there were some rumors saying that Samsung will launch a similar service, unofficially dubbed S Cloud, the South Korean company haven’t unveiled it at the Samsung Unpacked event in London. But the Android smartphone owners, including S3 owners, can use Google G-Drive, which offers 5 GB of free storage in the cloud. Of course, if you want to extend the storage space, you will have to pay some extra bucks. Besides G-Drive, Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with the AllShare service which will allow you to share your music, videos or pictures on all the gadgets manufactured by the company, like TVs, laptops, tablets or smartphones. If you want to do the same with your iPhone 4S you will need an Apple TV. Connectivity Both Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S come with special connectivity features. Samsung offers S Beam, which will allow you to share photos, videos, files, albums, etc. via NFC and WiFi Direct technologies. On the other hand, the Direct Call feature will automatically dial certain contacts once you take the phone to the ear. iPhone 4S user can chat using iMessage, a free messaging client, which has a lot of homologous app in Google Play. Apple also offers the Find my Friends service which uses the GPS to help you track your friends that are also using an iOS device. The iOS users can also make video calls using Face Time. All these chatting, video calling and tracking features are also available on Samsung Galaxy S3, of course, coming with different names. Both smartphones sport HSDPA (up to 21Mbps for Galaxy S3 and up to 14.4 Mbps for iPhone 4S), but unlike the iOS device, Samsung’s smartphone supports 4G LTE connectivity (where available). Social Media Integration iPhone 4S debuted with Twitter integration which allows the user to upload photos directly on his/hers Twitter account. With Samsung Galaxy S3 all social network friends has pictures and tags merged from the Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter accounts. It also comes with a feature that recognizes your friend’s face in a picture and automatically shares that picture with him/her. Camera Galaxy S3′s camera has a feature called Best Photo which chooses the best photo from 20 photos shot in burst mode and deletes the rest. On the other hand, Apple’s smartphone has HDR, which takes three pictures once the shutter is triggered, combining them into a single photo, which is supposed to have a higher quality. The iPhone 4S’ iSight camera has a face detection software which will display a square around the subject’s head. Galaxy S3′s answer is called Zoom Face, allowing you to select a certain area and zoom in on it. The two high-end devices come with 8 megapixel cameras capable of recording full HD 1080p videos at 30 fps. Display and CPU We have a winner here: it’s the Samsung Galaxy S3. It features a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a quad-core Exynos 4212 Quad chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz. iPhone 4S’ display is smaller and has lower resolution (3.5-inch LED-backlit IPS TFT with 640 x 960 pixels) while the 800 MHz (announced by Apple as a 1GHz unit) A5 chipset is a member of the dual-core tribe. Summing up, we have a winner. Samsung Galaxy S3 has better technical specifications, better display, more powerful CPU and bigger battery. It comes with loads of interesting features overpassing Apple’s iPhone 4S on any battlefield, which is great for us, the users, as the Cupertino-based company will be forced to launch a revolutionary device in the fall, in order to be able to cope with the South Korean super smartphone. wholesale accessories, ipod accessories, ipad accessories, iphone accessories
