Samsung Galaxy S III Hitting U.S. on June 20?

Will U.S and Canadian smartphone buyers be able to kick off their summer with a brand-new Samsung Galaxy S III? According to several blogs, Samsung is prepping for a June 20 launch, and T-Mobile will be a U.S. carrier. MobileSyrup.com this week posted a screenshotthat said the Galaxy S III would be released on June 20 in North America, though it was later asked to remove the image. TmoNews then posted a list of upcoming release dates for T-Mobile devices, with the 16GB and 32GB metallic blue versions of the Galaxy S III scheduled for June 20. The 16GB ceramic white Galaxy S III, however, won't be available until July 11, the blog said. That list also says that July 11 will be the day that T-Mobile gets the Galaxy Note - Samsung's 5.3-inch smartphone/tablet hybrid, or phablet, as PCMag mobile analyst Sascha Segan likes to call it. Also on the schedule for July 11 is the T-Mobile myTouch from Huawei. The Galaxy S III, meanwhile, is set to debut in Europe on May 29; Samsung is prepping pop-up stores in London to show off the smartphone. The device is expected to hit the U.S. market sometime this summer, though carriers and release dates have not yet been announced. Those eager to get their hands on one, however, can pre-order an unlocked version of the Galaxy S III - for a hefty $800 price tag. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S III during a London press event earlier this month. It boasts a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED 1,280-by-720 display, and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.9-megapixel front-facing one.
