iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S3: Does Apple Have A Shot?

Everyone is getting ready for the imminent launch of the iPhone 5 from Apple, but how will it measure up against the Samsung Galaxy S3? The Galaxy S3 has everything a popular smartphone needs like great design and features that are innovative. At this moment there is nothing in the smartphone market to come close to it. So will Apple stand a chance with their latest iPhone 5 against the might of the Galaxy S3 from Samsung? iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S3 (warning: iPhone 5 specs based on rumors) The iPhone has to contend with the screen of the S3 which is 4.8 Super AMOLED with a resolution of 1280 x720 and 310ppi. While there is no guarantee it is thought that the iPhone will have a screen of Retina 4 inches and have 367ppi and resolution of 1280 x 720. However the S3's pixel density is really all that the naked eye would need and it is no trade-off for overall screen size. In regards to processors, in the US the S3 has the 1.5GHz Snapdragon and it has been suggested that the iPhone 5 may have once called A5X. Given that in the past Samsung has made the processors for Apple, we wouldn't be surprised if the A5X is an Exynos like the one found in the international Samsung Galaxy S3 models. The S3 comes with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich and it is thought that the iPhone 5 will have the latest iOS 6 OS which is said to be available in October. Both phones are likely to receive updates in the future. In fact Jelly Bean looks set to hit theS3 sometime in Q4 2012. The S3 packs an 8-megapixel camera with zero shutter lag while there are rumors that the camera on the iPhone 5 may be 3D for video and photos. This may not be a good idea as the HTC EVO 3D did not really get received all that well. Nevertheless the other features in the iPhone 5's camera should easily match the S3 as its predecessor, the 4S, has one of the best cameras on the market till today already. Another edge other than screen size would be that the Galaxy S3 is offered in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions and there is the option to expand storage thanks to the SD card option. While the iPhone 5 should come with similar choices, there will obviously be no external storage. Other positive points for the S3 include its removeable (and larger battery) as well as unique features in the like S Beam, Pop up Play and Smart Stay. The iPhone 5 should have updated Siri 2.0, Face Unlock and Universal Remote Control and the new 3D maps app which while not as good as Google Maps it may improve ovr time. The preferences of the individual will play a large part in choosing a smartphone. There are many die hard Apple fans out there waiting for the iPhone 5. On the other hand the S3 continues to sell well so the iPhone will have to work hard if it wants to take its crown after coming in much later (rumored for sometime in October). Overall, while the S3 still seems to have the slight edge of the rumored iPhone 5 specs, we saw a similar situation between the iPhone 4S and Galaxy S2 last year but the 4S still outsold the S2. So what specs we see on paper may not mean much when both brands are already at the top of their game and the products are iconic flagships. wholesale accessories, ipod accessories, ipad accessories, iphone accessories
