Apple launching iPhone 5 in Sep, iPad mini in August: Rumours

New Delhi: Rumours about Apple's next-generation iPhone (unofficially dubbed the iPhone5) and iPad mini have been coming out since the beginning of this year. Various speculations are being made as to how the new devices (iPhone 5 and mini iPad) will look and what all they will have to offer. Now, reports are claiming that Apple will launch the iPad mini and iPhone 5 in August and September, respectively. Let's see what all the rumour mill is churning out about Apple's next-gen iPhone and iPad mini launches.
Apple's iPhone 5 coming in September? Though various rumours have been floating, but according to a recent report from Digitimes, Pegatron Technology, reportedly, has secured orders for the next-gen iPhone (iPhone 5) from Apple, which is expected to be launched in September. Pegatron Technology is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for the iPhone 4S and new iPad. The report also claims that the 10-inch iPad from Apple will be unveiled in the fourth quarter of 2012. Besides, Apple, reportedly, has been endeavouring to secure the iPhone5.com domain name. The company is said to have filed a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) with respect to the iphone5.com domain. This particular domain is currently being used in hosting a forum for Apple fans so as to talk about the upcoming iPhone. If it is true, it indicates a lot. So, if rumours are to be believed, Apple is going to come up with the iPhone 5 in the month of September, one month after the debut of its 7-inch iPad mini. Earlier, Mashable reported the new iPhone to hit the market in June this year. But, the release date now has moved up to September, say rumours. Considering Apple's new strategy of not naming the product, it can not be said that whether it will be called the "iPhone 5" or the "new iPhone". It will, however, be the 6th iPhone from Apple. After the release of the iPhone, the company launched an iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Apple's new iPhone will have a sharper and bigger 4.6-inch "retina" display, as reported by Reuters. The new iPhone is reported to be 4G LTE compatible, It seems more likely now after Apple released an iPad with 4G support. Reportedly, Apple is working on a smaller dock connector for charging and data transfers to help make extra room in its portable devices. The iPhone 5 could have a quad-core A6 processor, according to reports. But it does not seem plausible as Apple is not known for upgrading the technology so fast. Before the launch of the new iPad, people were expecting it to come equipped with the A6 processor, but it did not happen and their hopes dashed when the company unveiled the A5X-powered iPad. The next-gen iPhone is expected to come packed with an updated version of Siri and a better battery than the existing one. Rumours sat that the new iPhone will not be slimmer than the iPhone 4S. Apple's iPad mini coming in August? According to a Digitimes report: "A 7-inch iPad, which reportedly will be released in August, will be manufactured by Foxconn Electronics." This is not for the first time that we have heard rumours about a smaller iPad. Rumours about the iPad mini have been doing the rounds for a long time. According to speculations, the company will purchase 7.85-inch panels from LG Display and AU Optronics (AUO). The iPad mini is reported to have a screen resolution of 1024×768 pixels. CNET earlier quoted Richard Shim, an analyst at DisplaySearch saying, "Apple is also expressing interest in making a mini-iPad based on a 7.85-inch screen. That would come later in 2012, possibly in the second half sometime." Apple's late co-founder Steve Jobs once criticised the 7-inch tablet size, saying that it was too small for a pleasant touchscreen experience. "7-inch tablets are tweeners: too big to compete with a smartphone and too small to compete with the iPad," said Jobs, adding "they are going to be DOA - dead on arrival". Now that Jobs is no longer around does the iPad mini indicate that Apple is slowly deviating away from his vision? We don't expect the rumour mill to stop churning out rumours, but we highly expect some official announcement from the Cupertino-based tech giant soon. wholesale accessories, ipad accessories, iphone accessories, ipod accessories
