Apple wants Samsung Galaxy Samsung III off the market

Apple has asked a California district court to have sales of Samsung’s new Galaxy S III banned in the United States due to alleged patent infringement. PCMag.com reports that Apple wrote in its filing that the Galaxy S III clearly infringes on at least two of the Apple patents at issue in a previous Apple complaint about the Galaxy Nexus. Also, Apple has filed at the U.S. International Trade Commission to stop imports of HTC’s newest phones and tablets. Bloomberg.com reports that in December, the Trade Commission ordered HTC to remove a function patented by Apple for data-detection technology in order to keep selling its phones in the states. Apple alleges the HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC EVO 4G LTE phones and Flyer tablets are still infringing their patents. HTC said in a statement May 29 that its products “are in compliance with the ITC’s ruling," according to thestar.com. Apple wants the Trade Commission to have all HTC products operating on Android blocked from the U.S. until the case is resolved. Samsung said in a statement, "Samsung believes Apple's request is without merit," according to Reuters. "We would also like to assure consumers that the U.S. launch and sales of the Galaxy S III will proceed as planned." VentureBeat reports that five major carriers, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and U.S. Cellular all planned to carry the Galaxy III in the next few weeks and it would start at $200 with a 2-year contract. The device is hoping to launch in stores around June 21. It features a 4.8-inch screen with 720p resolution, and weighs just 4.7 ounces and measures 8.6 millimeters thin. The Samsung Galaxy SIII went on sale in Europe on May 29. Many market research firms are saying Samsung moved ahead of Apple in smartphone shipments for the first time in the first quarter of 2012, according to an Associated Press report on USA Today. Many analysts believe Apple’s new iPhone could launch as early as July. wholesale accessories, ipad accessories, ipod accessories, iphone accessories
