iPhone 5 release date rumors: Facebook hires ex Apple workers to clone iPhone

Apple enthusiasts are waiting for Apple to announce theiPhone 5 release date, but it looks like Facebook may be working out a plan to outshine the technology giant. Rumors have surfaced that Facebook is working on a smartphone of their own, and have gone so far as to hire former Apple designers for the project. Sources say out of the six new Facebook employees, five worked on earlier iPhone models, and one worked on the iPad. It looks like there is a new Internet company trying to steal Apple's sunshine! Even if Facebook is working on a new mobile device, it doesn't mean it will be an iPhone 5 clone. After all, look at all the mess Samsung got themselves into with Apple. Surely no other company wants to go through that. However, its not to say these former Apple worker bees don't have a plan for something big! These rumors were sparked by anonymous sources, who had concerns of "jeopardizing their employment or relationships with Facebook,” by hinting at the possibility of a Facebook smartphone. Soon after the iPhone 5 clone rumors began, statements about Facebook taking on a smartphone project flowed in. One statement said: “If Facebook Really Goes Into The Mobile Hardware Business, Investors Should Run Away Screaming.” It looks like some people believe Facebook has a long road ahead, but what does a new smartphone, from such a well known internet company, mean for the new iPhone 5 release date, or future models?
